Can we require an employee with COVID-19 symptoms to go get tested with an IME Doctor? If so, does this have to be at the employers expense?
It is within the employer’s right to send the person home and recommend that they be tested. It is difficult to get tested right now with the backlog and many physicians do not have the ability to test. If you require the test, you need to pay for it.
